New Reality Show about Sextuplets to Rival Jon and Kate

Do sextuplets really make for good TV?

If you’re looking for an alternative to the drama of “Jon and Kate Plus 8″, there’s a new offering on the WE Network,Thursday nights at 10pm.

“Raising Sextuplets” stars the Masche family, parents Brian and Jenny plus their six (6) toddlers.  They’re Arizonans and evangelical Christians who both work outside the home.  Jenny works part-time as an ER physician’s assistant while Brian works full-time as a pharmaceutical sales rep while also completing his Master’s degree.

Reviews are mixed so far.  The one criticism, if you can call it that, is that there’s a lack of drama or, at the very least, not much to keep viewers interested.  When your main competition is the Gosselin’s, it’s not hard to be less compelling.

Here’s what the press is saying…

The Today Show

Sad thing about TV these days.  The TV viewing public, in general, has been conditioned to value shock more than substance.  The Gosselin’s extramarital speculation makes for “must-see” TV, while Brian Masche “battle of the bulge” is nothing to write home about.

We say take a look and make your own decision.  Do you favor Jon and Kate’s ongoing marital dischord or the “normalcy” of the Masche’s existence.

We’d love to hear what you think?
